Cyprus: Aphrodite's Rock and Palaipaphos

From the rock in the sea where, according to Hesiod, Aphrodite was born, to old Paphos at Kouklia, home to one of the most visited sanctuaries of the ancient world - where the goddess had no statue and no human form. The walk ends in the village with the Lusignan manor and sugar works. If you still have time, you can drive on to nearby Geroskipou, whose name describes what grew here for the pilgrims. NOTE: you need a car between the stops; each part is then explored on foot.
