A day-long circuit through the mountains in the middle of the island: the richest monastery on Cyprus with an icon nobody may look at, the tomb of the first president at a viewpoint, the highest peak on the island with a British radar, a waterfall in a pine forest, and Byzantine churches on the UNESCO list whose frescoes survived thanks to one piece of country building sense. NOTE: you drive between the stops, about 90 km of mountain hairpins in all. In winter there is snow here and roads are often closed.
