Yosemite: The Mist Trail to the Falls

The Mist Trail, starting at the Happy Isles shuttle stop (~7 km, 3.5 h, +300 m). The optional continuation to the upper fall and the return down the John Muir Trail closes the loop and adds about 3.5 km and two hours. Best in May and June, when there is most spray — count on getting wet. The upper section is usually closed in winter.
