Staré Město (Old Town) – 4 / 13

We have just passed by the oldest part of the oldest university north of the Alps (and east of Paris), named after Charles IV. Its name in Latin is above the modern entrance and reads

This entrance is the entrance to the oldest part, where graduation ceremonies – the awarding of diplomas to graduates – are still held today. Can you guess what language the university was taught in when it was founded in 1348?

Now we go diagonally across the Fruit Market (Ovocný trh) and pass through the Myslbek shopping gallery, we are back in Na Příkopě Street, where we turn left and stop at the next intersection.
